Ryan asked: I am in high school and want to apply for a job at the fair as a candy attendant, but am unsure of what to include as I have never written a resume before. I am really good academically, but does that matter in this job? I have won academic awards, service awards, and have been on the honor roll. Include those? Should I also put I have taken three years of home-ec as the job does require the making of cotton candy, etc. But I took home-ec in middle school, would they care about that? Should I also include things I did in elementary school, like monitoring the lower grades at lunch hour?
So I guess what I am asking is if someone can run down the things I should include and the format, and what things I should omit. Thank You.
And the application also has a spot (online application) for “Comments to the Recruiter or cover letter.”, what do I do there?
It specifically asks for the resume, I thought it was silly also, but I want to do it right and make a good impression. I can also use and modify it for other jobs I might be applying for in the future.
